The referee plays a critical role in enforcing safety by carefully moderating contact between fighters. Should a competitor display excessive aggression or emotional volatility, immediate disqualification or a declaration of “no contest” may be enforced for both parties. This strict protocol ensures protection from injury. Judges and referees meticulously assess the execution of technique throughout the bout. In cases where scores are tied after two rounds, a decisive third round may be introduced to break the deadlock—typically reserved for experienced athletes who demonstrate superior self-control. Any indication of potential injury will prompt warnings or the stoppage of the match to safeguard all participants.
